Community Benefits of the LNG Export Terminal
LNG Essentials:
Natural gas is an odorless, clean burning fuel that is increasingly used for lesser emissions and pollution.
Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) is formed by reducing the natural gas temperature to about -260 degrees Fahrenheit (or -160 degrees Centigrade) with the liquid volume becoming 600 times less than gas.
LNG is a good way to ship large amounts of natural gas across the world. Special double-hulled, refrigerated ships transport the LNG to importing destinations in Asia, Europe, and other destinations.
More information on LNG can be found at eia.gov or api.org.
